Master

The master row at the bottom holds the final touches that sit on the whole output.

Master row

  • IN: how hot your voice goes into the plugin. If the tuning or the display jumps around on a quiet take, bring IN up a little. On a very loud take bring it down.
  • OUT: the final level coming out of the plugin, ±24 dB. Use it to match the level with the plugin bypassed.

The two lamps on the left of the master box decide what the master effects (Tilt, EQ and Glue) work on.

  • Both on: the effects work on everything.
  • Only LEAD: only the lead gets them.
  • Only VOICES: only the harmonies (and the Brigade) get them.
  • Both off: no master effects at all. The knobs fade out but stay adjustable.

Three bands you can drag by hand: left and right is the frequency, up and down is the boost or cut. Right-click a band to change its type. The ‹ › buttons step through ready-made curves:

EQ preset What it does
Air Lifts the very top. A bright, expensive, breathy vocal.
Warm A little more low body, softer highs. Takes the harshness off.
Present Pushes the vocal forward with an upper-mid boost, a bit less mud.
Silky Tames the harsh 4 kHz area and adds sheen on top.
Big More low end and top, less boxiness. A larger-than-life voice.
Intimate Close and warm, like a singer right at the mic.
Tight Cuts the low rumble and the muddy area. Clean and controlled in a busy mix.
Radio A band-limited telephone or radio sound. A classic effect for intros and breakdowns.
Off The EQ is out.

Moving a band by hand turns the preset into Custom.

TILT tips the whole tonal balance in one move: turn it right for brighter, left for darker.

A bus compressor that holds the lead and the harmonies together. Turn it up and the mix gets denser and wider, while the ceiling never overshoots. Start around 20–40 %. Higher settings give a pumping, very upfront sound.

COMPACT hides the cards and shows only the display and the master row. STANDARD and WIDE set how wide the cards are.
